About this test
What this test measures
In the United States, nearly half of all adults are living with some type of cardiovascular disease.¹ Regularly monitoring your cardiovascular markers can help you understand your risk and adapt your lifestyle to prevent cardiovascular and heart disease.
This test evaluates three crucial markers that are linked to cardiovascular disease risk:
- Apolipoprotein B: This protein is responsible for carrying fat and cholesterol throughout your body. Higher levels may point to an increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
- Apolipoprotein A1: This protein helps your body manage cholesterol levels. Lower levels can indicate an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
- Apolipoprotein B:Apolipoprotein A1 ratio: The balance of these two proteins is critical in assessing your cardiovascular disease risk.
- Lipoprotein (a) - A form of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) that helps carry fat and cholesterol through your body. Elevated levels may indicate a higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
Who should take this test
The Cardiac Risk Apo A+B Test is particularly useful for those who wish to monitor their heart health and assess their risk of cardiovascular disease, preventatively. It is recommended for men aged 45 and above, women aged 55 and above, and individuals who have a lifestyle or family history that puts them at risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Keep in mind that cardiovascular disease does not always manifest noticeable signs and symptoms, so preventative testing can be crucial in maintaining heart health.
You must be age 18 or older to take this test. Due to state restrictions, this test is not available to residents of New York.

Will my insurance cover the cost of the test?
Cue test kits are not currently covered by insurance, but we are actively working with health insurance companies to get coverage for Cue Health solutions. (Please note, Cue COVID-19 tests are covered by insurance. Check with your provider for details.) However, many Cue test kits are FSA/HSA eligible, which means that your health benefits may cover them. We recommend connecting with your insurance provider directly to inquire about their policies and your plan. We work hard to keep our pricing accessible, and in most cases, the price of a Cue test is comparable to the out-of-pocket costs for testing in a clinical setting.
I ordered my kit. What should I do next?
Get started by downloading the Cue Health App. Please ensure you’ve installed the latest version (1.16 or newer). Follow step-by-step instructions within your app and sample collection kit to collect and mail in your sample. Your package will be delivered discreetly by Amazon, our delivery fulfillment partner. Your order will arrive in an Amazon box with no test names or Cue Health-branded images. In most cases, Cue Health will not appear on your package; however, it may be printed on your shipping label on rare occasions.

Due to state restrictions, Cue mail-in lab tests are not available to residents of New York. Additionally, the Colon Cancer Screening, the Women’s Sexual Health Panel, and the Men’s Sexual Health Panel is not available to residents of New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island. These restrictions do not apply to Cue’s COVID-19 test.
What support will I get with my results?
What health test results mean can vary from person to person. If you have questions or want to discuss your results, we recommend speaking with a healthcare provider. You can go to the Care tab in your App to consult a provider and access 24/7 virtual care. You might also want to talk with your healthcare provider if you are concerned about your results. If you test positive for certain conditions with a Cue test, you can request a video chat with a clinician through Cue Care™ at no extra cost. If you receive a prescription, you’ll just have to cover the cost of your medicine. Please check the Cue Health App or our Cue Care FAQs for more information on which conditions may be eligible for Cue Care medication delivery.
