Frequently Asked Questions

What are the symptoms of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) or sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)?

How do I receive STI or STD treatment with Cue Care?

With Cue CareTM, you can get same-day treatment delivery if you test positive for certain STIs or STDs. Get started by purchasing an at-home test kit on our website or in the Cue Health App. After collecting your sample, place it in the included prepaid return shipping envelope and drop your package off at a mailbox. Return your sample on the same day you collect it to ensure accurate results. In most circumstances, your results will be ready within 3-5 business days of the lab receiving your sample.

How long will I need to take STI medication?

The amount of time you should take medication will depend on your condition, the prescribed medication, and your treatment plan. If you have questions about your treatment, please ask your clinician.

Who is eligible to receive STI treatment through Cue Care?

Anyone age 18 or older who tests positive with a Cue STI test can use Cue Care to request STI treatment. Certain Cue STI tests are not available to residents of New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island.

Do I need a Cue test to access STI treatment through Cue Care? And do I need a Cue Reader?

Yes, you need a positive result with a Cue STI test to request treatment through Cue Care. The Cue STI test is processed by an independent, CLIA-certified laboratory in Cue’s network of accredited testing providers. You do not need a Cue Reader to use the test kit. You may not use a positive result from an outside test to access Cue Care.

Will my primary care physician be alerted of a new treatment prescribed to me?

We do not automatically share your test results with providers outside Cue Care; however, you can use the Cue Health App to securely share health information with your provider.

Are Cue’s at-home test kits covered by insurance?

Cue’s at-home test kits are not currently covered by insurance, but we are actively working with health insurance companies to get coverage for Cue Health solutions. However, tests you obtain through Cue Care and your Cue Care visit may be FSA/HSA eligible, which means that some of your health benefits may be able to cover these products and services. We recommend connecting with your FSA/HSA provider and/or insurance provider directly to inquire more about their policies and your plan. We work hard to keep our pricing accessible, and in most cases, the price of a Cue Care test is similar to the out-of-pocket costs for testing in a clinical setting.
*Must have a positive test result from a Cue test to be eligible for Cue Care at no additional cost. Cost of Cue Care is included in the overall price of purchasing the test. Available only through the Cue Health App.
Cue Care™ includes a virtual care visit with a qualified health provider who will help determine whether a prescription or treatment referral is right for you. Your healthcare provider may also recommend other screening tests or procedures to diagnose or treat your condition(s). For hepatitis C, HIV, and HSV-2, Cue detects antibodies, which indicate current or past infection. Additional testing is needed to diagnose current infection.
Cue Care herpes treatment services are only available to people from ages 18 to 60.
